30 Aug Retrospective Planning Permission for Holiday Accommodation

The Rural Planning Practice has recently secured planning consent for the conversion and use of an agricultural building as holiday accommodation on an attractive former vineyard near Rye, East Sussex.

The farm is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and located three miles from the nearest town. The applicants operate two successful holiday lets, one unit had the benefit of planning permission and this application sought to regularise the conversion of the second. 

The business produces a modest income for the applicants and the second unit allows them to address a broader market for larger groups. The application successfully demonstrated the proposal satisfies planning policy, specifically national policy that Local Planning Authorities should support the growth and expansion of all types of rural businesses and those that contribute to the rural economy.
