We have secured planning permission to station a shepherd hut on land near East Sussex.

The proposal was to diversify the existing farm. The farm runs a sheep flock of 300 breeding ewes, grows Sussex Blueberries, and has planning permission for some equestrian use.

The shepherd hut will be in a remote, but well screened location, accessed by an existing farm track, the hut provides an ‘away from it all’ experience with simple facilities for tourists, some with horses who may also take advantage of the equestrian facilities on the farm including instruction from nearby based event rider.

Our team were able to show that tourist development is an acceptable form of development in the countryside. The sensitive siting, design and use of materials results in no adverse impact or harm to the AONB.

We were able to demonstrate in the statement that this proposal meets with both national and local planning policy.
