This application concerned the conversion of a disused barn of heritage interest to a modest dwelling.

The stone barn lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by open countryside.

Drawing together a multi-disciplinary team, we successfully overcame concerns regarding the site access, sustainability and ecology. We addressed any issues around the impact of the development on the wider landscape. The conversion has been designed to limit the external changes to the building and to only include additions on site that are sympathetic to the host building and to the wider area. Finding a new use for this beautiful barn has secured its future.

Thank you to our Ecologists DS Associates and our Architect Olson Design Group.
