Listed Buildings and Heritage Planning

Our approach has led to an excellent track record in achieving consent for changes to listed buildings, often in sensitive locations.

Our team is experienced in dealing with the unique and specific challenges facing the owners of listed buildings and heritage structures, also covering works within Conservation Areas and areas of landscape importance.

Judith and Jo have postgraduate qualifications in the conservation of historic buildings. Judith has a particular interest in historic landscapes; she is a full member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation.

Each project is different and will be assessed on its merits by the local authority Conservation Officer, there are no specific rules for what can or can’t be done without consent or what constitutes “relevant historic fabric”. We undertake research to thoroughly understand the background and history for each project which is incorporated into our designs and accompanying documents, including Design and Access Statements, Heritage Statements and Statements of Significance.
