Discharge of Conditions for Replacement Dwelling in the Green Belt

Residential

Date

Local Planning Authority
Brentwood Council

After obtaining planning permission for a replacement dwelling near Brentwood, within the London Green Belt, we have successfully discharged conditions to allow the building works to commence.

One particular condition required that building materials be submitted to the Council. After submitting the yellow stock bricks the applicant wished to use to build the dwelling, Brentwood Council insisted that the house should be built of red brick as it was more in keeping with the character of the local area.

We managed to prove that the immediate area consisted of a mix of yellow stock bricks, red bricks and weather boarding and that not one particular architectural style dominated. As such, we were able to achieve a final finish which met our client’s requirements.
