Having previously secured permission for our client for the permanent stationing of his mobile home as an agricultural worker’s dwelling (following several temporary periods), we were contacted to handle a retrospective application for a modest extension to the mobile home and to the nearby pole barn. We demonstrated that the extension was easily removed should the need for the dwelling itself cease, and that it had no impact on the AONB, or the amenity of neighbouring dwellings.

We argued that the extension to the pole barn provides our client with additional storage for hay (cut on his own land) and in doing so overcomes the issue of excess hay being left on the land and becoming an eyesore.

The council approved the application.
