Case Study

Old Dairy Conversion

Residential

Date
23rd April 2017
Local Planning Authority

On behalf of our client, we have gained permission for an old dairy building to be converted into residential use within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, within the 15km Ashdown Forest exclusion zone.

Forming part of an historic farmyard, the building was no longer suitable for modern day agricultural use given its size, configuration and eaves height.

The Council found that the building contributes to the character of the area and that the principle of conversion would meet policy criteria. We were able to over ride the potential objection of the impact of nitrogen on the Ashdown Forest.
